In the context of the Tenerife Moving Arts Festival (FAM), the Tenerife Auditorium is staging Leira, a show by Nova Galega de Danza. The show, directed by Jaime Pablo Díaz and choreographed by Díaz and Iker Gómez, stars dancers Iván Villar, Pablo Sánchez, Ricardo Fernández, Estefanía Gómez, Inés Vieites and Uxía Rivas.
Leira is a show about the body and the earth, and about their powerful ties. It puts dance and music at the service of the harsh beauty of farm labour. The show won the Max Award for Best Male Dancer and was short-listed for the Max Award for Best Dance Show at the 24th Max Awards for the Performing Arts in 2021.
