The App's goal is to enable visitors to discover the main tourist attractions in Tenerife. Once downloaded, the user will only need to aim their mobile phone camera at any point on any of the six official paper maps that are published by Turismo de Tenerife and connected with this application. These maps can be obtained free of charge at any of the 50 tourist information offices in the INFOTEN network spread throughout the Island.
The maps that can interact with this application are:
- Tenerife essentials
- Walking trails
- Bike routes
- Water activities
- Webcams with live images of the different places of interest on the island
It is also possible to interact with the tablecloths specially created for this App, which can be found in numerous cafés and restaurants in Tenerife.
A tab opens on the screen when the mobile phone camera is pointed at the location on the map the user is interested in, allowing the user to discover its main features. In addition, the “how to get there” button makes it possible to open the application in Google Maps. The App also shows the user's approximate location on the map.
