Osprey

A bird of prey living in the coastal areas of Tenerife

The osprey or fish eagle (Pandion haliaetus) is one of the Canary Islands' endangered birds of prey. Males typically have a wingspan of 147 cm (58 inch), with white and black feathers on their heads, yellow or orangey eyes and a black hooked beak. They can often be seen near the cliffs on the coast or fishing on the surface using their beaks and claws, most of all in Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and Lanzarote.
