Plain swift
An endemic bird living all over the Island
This apodiforme bird is endemic to the Canary Islands and prefers the islands with the most relief. The plain swift (Apus unicolor) can be told apart from the common swift and pallid swift because it is smaller and has a forked tail. Despite their migratory nature, a considerable number of plain swifts stay in the Canary Islands all year round.
