Teide Cable Car

Mount Teide National Park

The Teide Cable Car allows visitors to climb to the top of the volcano without the time and effort that walking would involve.

The cable car has two stations: one at the bottom, with a bar and a buffet restaurant, and another at the top, in La Rambleta, 3,555 m (11,663 ft) high, affording fabulous views of the Island of Tenerife and the whole archipelago.

The trails up to the La Fortaleza and Pico Viejo lookout points can both be accessed freely and each reveal magnificent panoramic views over the north and south side of Tenerife respectively. The views from the Pico Viejo lookout point stretch as far as the nearby islands, with the 800 m (2,624 ft) wide Pico Viejo crater at your feet.

Access along the Telesforo Bravo trail up to the crater is restricted and subject to obtaining a free licence from Teide National Park, which must be applied for sufficiently in advance as demand is high.
