The five most spectacular beach sunsets in Tenerife

Sometimes we get lost in our search for the perfect beach sunset; that ideal moment to share with you. It is easy to forget that it is our visitors who best know which corners of our island to visit. So, instead of giving you our selection, we decided to highlight the  beach sunsets that are most recommended by travelers to Tenerife.

Benijo Beach

“There is no other spot like it, so magical, exciting, so wild and so surprising. It is a mythical beach” says Julián. We get it; Benijo is one of those beaches with a unique magnetism that makes locals and strangers alike fall in love with it.

Julian, one of hundreds of travelers to recommend Benijo, gives some good advice: “To go and enjoy it, it is mandatory to check the tides; especially the low tides, which is when the beach is at its biggest and widest”.

Las Vistas Beach

Although we have cheated a bit and visited  at dawn, Las Vistas shines at both ends of the day and is  one of south Tenerife’s flagship beaches. You’ll see why after watching the sun rise and set from the same spot.

When the sun rises, the sky is flooded with gold, while on special occasions, it dyes the entire horizon purple. For Mali, Las Vistas beach is “the best of Tenerife. Fine white sand and crystal clear water. I’ve been coming to this beach for about 15 years. I repeat almost every year”.

El Médano Beach

Isabel García accurately describes El Médano in the Ocho Leguas blog as “the town with the most kites in Tenerife”. Kite flyers join windsurfers, kitesurfers and other wind-based sports enthusiasts to create a playful dance over the ocean. Montaña Roja, the Red Mountain, is the perfect backdrop to sunset at El Medano.

Garden Beach

If Tenerife in itself is a paradise, Puerto de la Cruz is a mini paradise within. It’s a city that retains its genuine seaside friendliness and draws visitors back year after year to pretty Playa Jardín.

Jordi describes it as “one of the best beaches in Tenerife, with fine black sand .. Very long and wide to play ball, tennis, etc…”. Maria agrees, stating that, “I loved this beach because of how black it is and the contrast of the gardens. It is a very nice place to swim or just to take a walk.”

El Duque Beach

To finish, we visit what is perhaps one of the most paradisiacal beaches in Tenerife. Sophianne says that, “if you want to relax in paradise, this is your beach. Whenever I can, I go in the morning to take an early dip in the transparent waters. It’s also a beautiful place to walk at sunset and take photos.”

So there you have it. The five best beach sunset spots in Tenerife. All that’s left is to invite you to visit them and see if you can take that perfect photo to match. It’s not that difficult!
