The ‘Culture and Business Pride’ in Tenerife, an unmissable event with a different kind of pride

Tenerife will host the sixth edition of ‘Culture & Business Pride’ from 23 to 28 July, the first pride that brings together culture, business, technology, tourism and the rights of the LGTBIQ+ collective . An unmissable event with a different kind of pride that will once again be attended by important international personalities, organisations and groups.


The event, which will take place in different venues in the island’s capital, Santa Cruz, will feature activities for all audiences, with free access until full capacity is reached. These include presentations, round tables, networking, a concert for Human Rights and the Alan Turing LGTBIQ+ awards gala, which recognise figures from the collective who have fought for the rights and visibility of all human beings, regardless of gender or condition.


Although in a few days the line-up of personalities, entities and relevant international collectives that will take part in C&B Pride will be announced, there are already some confirmed participants. Among them, the content creators Pierre Booy and Nick Champa, the most popular LGTBIQ+ couple on the web who make their relationship visible through their TikTok account, with 30 million followers. Also present will be the artist Jedet, winner of the Ondas award for her performance in the series ‘Veneno’, who will give a concert with her first album, ‘A los hombres que he tenido que olvidar’ (To the men I had to forget).
In this edition, C&B Pride has the support of the World Tourism Organization, which has selected it as a globally relevant event this year, for its commitment to equality and diversity, as well as to the Sustainable Development Goals in general.


A different pride
Under the slogan Anotherway of Loving, anotherway of Pride, ‘Culture & Business Pride’ offers an alternative proposal to the Pride celebrations, with an agenda of activities aimed at all audiences and all identities. In this sixth edition, various themes will be addressed to understand the collective in a global way.


During the celebration of this event, Tenerife will be a meeting and enjoyment point for a whole social movement, proposing the exchange for the growth of the LGTBIQ+ platform through its advances in culture, technology, business, social networks, science, communication, cinema and art.
The history of Culture & Business Pride


In its five previous editions, this festival has attracted more than 70,000 attendees. And, since its creation, it has been attended by personalities such as the president of the European Union’s Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, Robert Biedron; the former vice-president of Costa Rica, Ana Helena Chacón; the former prime minister of Iceland, Johanna Sigurdardöttir; the Nobel Peace Prize winner and activist against nuclear weapons, Carlos Umaña; the British artists Gilbert & George; Amnesty International; UNHCR, or the Harvey Milk Foundation, among other personalities and collective entities worldwide. In short, different protagonists who have fought for the rights, visibility and equal justice of the collective.
