David Gunkle, an experienced location unit manager, is running the operations from Tenerife. He has a wealth of experience servicing locations for varied productions throughout Europe and the UK from over the past fifteen years.

From small projects to large blockbuster productions there has been a noticeable shift in the provision of location servicing in the past ten years. This has been influenced by the American production process and driven by increasing cast, crew & producers expectations of our working environment.

In the last ten years location teams have been developing the skills & adaptability to provide more efficient & productive environments for the film industry. These improvements have been aided by increased location department crews, complementary service companies such as Location One, and the significantly improved equipment & technology that they now supply.

Location One has imported new technologies to Tenerife to enable and improve working on location which include, but are not limited to, LED tower lights, Cotton bud lighting, battery lighting, Super Silent generators, a Luxury Honey wagon (toilets), protective materials & 1000 litre water bowsers for moving fresh/dirty water easily around and between sites.

Power consumption and activities on location are now often 24/7 due to digital technology/increased battery charging & other factors including catering & data processing after wrap. Efficiency, reliability, support and knowledge of servicing are key factors to ensure a productive working environment. Location One Islas Canarias provides all of these key ingredients combined with flexibility, positivity and experience.

Location One Islas Canarias is a business specifically tailored to the Spanish film, commercial and television industries. As the customer base grows over the coming months and years this company will continue developing our company alongside the buoyant and growing industries here in the Canary Islands and mainland Spain. Location One Islas Canarias intends to continue working closely & collaborating with local talent, production companies & relevant government agencies.

It’s an exciting time to be part of this sector at the Canary Islands and Location One Islas Canarias is looking forward to forming long term and positive relationships within the industry.
