Globally competitive, the Canary Islands’ tax incentives have led to the development of a breeding ground from which an industry of its own is emerging, incorporating increasingly more local technicians and a solid infrastructure that supplies all types of equipment for audiovisual production.

A growing number of companies have been setting up on the island to offer equipment rental services for the sector. These companies often have extensive experience in other important industrial enclaves, such as Madrid or Barcelona, which are committing to the island as a new growth area for audiovisual activity.
Below are the profiles of the main equipment rental companies operating out of Tenerife, their most recent projects, the important know-how they have acquired and the most innovative technologies they incorporate into their offer.
1 EPC Canarias
A classic in the Spanish market established in the Canary Islands

A classic in the Spanish film industry, EPC started operations in the Canary Islands more than ten years ago as EPC Canarias.
With gradual growth and now established in the market, EPC Canarias has collaborated this year in the filming of The Gold S2 in Tenerife.
Last year, its international participation included Showtime Networks‘ British film The Curse S2, starring Ema Stone, and the Spanish films V de Victor, by Frank Ariza, distributed by Disney in Mexico, and Desmontando a Lucía, starring Hugo Silva.
In the advertising world, EPC Canarias’ clients in the fashion sector include Bonprix Autumn, Mango, Louis Vuitton, Zalando, Merrel and North Six, while in the automotive sector, firms such as Citroen and Dacia have contracted its services.
On the islands, the company offers a wide range of cameras for production, including the Arri 35, Sony Venice II and Arri Mini LF models. On the analogue side, it provides equipment for shooting in both 16mm and 35mm, with models such as Arriflex 235, Arriflex 435, Arriflex 416, Arri SR3 and Arricam LT.
It also has a wide variety of lenses, both anamorphic and spherical, in s16, s35 or FF format, as well as zoom lenses. Among them, the Signature Primes of Arri T1.8, Cooke Anamorphics/FF and even some vintage lenses like the Zeiss Standard T2.1 and the Zeiss Highspeed T1.3.

Engaged in the rental of cameras, lenses and cinematographic accessories, it was set up in 2021 to cater to the market of local, national and international productions on the islands. The titles in which it has participated include Balko Teneriffa, a German series by UFA Fiction, and an advertising commercial for Film Canary Islands Festeam Comunicación y Eventos.
3 Easy Filming
Logistical material for blockbusters

With years of international experience in film, advertising, documentaries and TV logistics, Easy Filming has the capacity to supply production material and locations in the Canary Islands, Spain, Europe and even Africa.
In Tenerife, Easy Filming has marquees of all sizes, office furniture, wardrobe material, and water tanks. It also has large towed generators, power banks, VIP towed toilets, industrial wardrobe donkeys and a 12-t location truck.
Recent productions on the island have included Den of Thieves 2: Panther, Jack Ryan, Foundation and The Gold.

Grip Art ‘s Canary Islands office is located in La Laguna, from where it provides crane assembly and camera support services, as well as the rental of the necessary equipment for production.
With a long and successful track record in the international film and advertising sector, the company headed up by Stefano Aldighieri collaborated in July on the production of the Shades of Grey advertising commercial for the German online fashion shop Bonprix and Le Vague Productions advertising commercial for Yves Saint Laurent.

Its transport department has 54 trucks – toilets and washrooms, make-up, wardrobe, etc., the production department includes camera cars, marquees and generators. It has a stock of some 400 scene vehicles and an art department, an extensive catalogue of camera cars and production material. With emblematic shoots such as Fast and Furious 6, Rambo V, Jason Bourne, Han Solo: A Star Wars Story and La Casa de Papel.
Last year, it participated in 84 projects, including the productions El Zorro, Den of Thieves, Locomía and The Penguin Lessons, a film by Peter Cattaneo distributed by Lionsgate. To June this year, Canary Pictures Vehicles had participated in the filming of 47 projects, including Weiss & Morales, The Head and The Choice, as well as in concerts for international stars such as Ed Sheeran and Mark Anthony and in commercials for brands such as Citroen, Peugeot, Armani and C&A. ‘We are more enthusiastic than ever,’ says John González Mesa, Picture Vehicles Supervisor at CPV.

A regional company from the Canary Islands, with more than 3,250m2 of warehouses spread throughout the islands, it offers production and equipment rental services under the ‘one-stop shop’ concept. Tenerife has two warehouses in the area of Güimar, where you can find a wide range of production materials, special trucks for filming (make-up, wardrobe, bathrooms, office, production, generator trucks, lights, etc.), lighting, grip and camera material. Aluzine is a lighting rental company part of the Southern Sun group. Ithas created Aluzine Atlántico to bring the service closer to its clients in the Canary Islands.
Productions such as Exodus: Dioses y Reyes, produced by Volcano Films, Scotfree and Fox; Palmeras en la Nieve by Nostromo for Atresmedia and Las ovejas no pierden el tren, by Morena Films and RTVE, have used Aluzine’s services.

Tax rebate project for Paramount’s ‘Jack Ryan’
Service and rental production company based in the Canary Islands and mainland Spain, founded in 1995. In Tenerife, it carried out the tax rebate project for the Paramount film Jack Ryan, partially shot last year on the island, and participated in the Porsche and Becks advertising commercials produced by Sterntag Film, as well as in the Bavaria Fiction series Ein Ferienhaus auf Teneriffa.
