El Sauzal Film Office
El Sauzal is a quiet and charming village with exceptional views of Mount Teide and the north coast of Tenerife, which can be filmed from its different viewing points.
The lower part of the municipality is full of architecture that combines tradition and modernity with unique elements, such as the white dome of the church of San Pedro or the modern building that houses the El Sauzal Theatre. In addition, numerous traditional Canarian houses have been restored, such as the Casa Roja, the Casa del Vino and the Museo de la Lucha.
One of El Sauzal's jewels is its coastline, which is part of the Costa Acentejo Protected Natu-ral Landscape. This coastline is free of buildings and features several coves, bathing areas, an extraordinary promenade stretching for more than four kilometres, and pools of singular beauty.
The upper part of the municipality, known as Ravelo, stands out for its green landscapes, with large areas of pine forest, heather and fields of vines and fruit trees.
El Sauzal is conceived as a place with a wide variety of environments ideal for telling stories of the past and present.
El Sauzal has hosted productions such as the feature film ‘Islas’ (2024) by Marina Seresesky, the series ‘The Gold’ (2023) and ‘Las noches de Tefía’, the ‘Double Decker’ commercial (2023), and the television programme ‘Tocando el cielo’ (RTVC, 2022), among others.

Instructions for requesting permission to film
Productions without occupation (Communication)
For simple productions that do not exclusively occupy public space, do not need to cut off traffic or interrupt the pas-sage of passers-by, reserve public space, employ special effects or reserve parking spaces.
The Mayor's Office of El Sauzal Town Council must be informed of the details of the produc-tion, including title, type of production, filming areas, number of people, production company details, and contact person, at alcaldia@elsauzal.es, at least five business days in ad-vance.
Authorisation
For all other productions, the authorisation application must be made, preferably at least 15 business days in advance.
Procedure
The application is made online through the electronic office of the Town Council, using a general application form addressed to the Mayor's Office, Culture and the Technical Office for Urban Planning: https://eadmin.elsauzal.es/publico/categoria/10
Documentation to be provided:
- An explanatory report of the activity to be carried out according to the MEMORIA TIPO GENERAL.docx must be in PDF format and signed.
- Civil liability insurance and proof that it is valid.
Fees
Fees for the occupation of public space/base camp/parking reservation: In principle, Ordinance 016 (rate No. 7: €0.77/m2/day) will be applied.
