La Orotava Film Office

From a distance, you can appreciate the beautiful domes of the churches, the landscape, and the terrain of La Orotava, which is an appetiser of the beauties of its historic centre. The town centre is charming and welcoming, with its characteristic cobbled streets. Declared a historic-artistic site, the centre is home to a range of different places: La Concepción church, El Calvario hermitage, San Agustín church, the Liceo Taoro and Santo Domingo church, as well as unique landscapes. In addition to all this, there are various architectural styles, ranging from the more stately lower part of town to the humbler upper part, with its characteristic water mills.

In addition to its unique historic centre, the wide variety of landscapes in La Orotava extends from the coast to Mount Teide. There are natural beaches of black sand surrounded by cliffs, banana plantations in the coastal area, and a unique midland landscape with vineyards, potatoes, chestnut trees, etc. In a short geographical space, there is a wide variety of environments suitable for bearing witness to past and present stories.

La Orotava has been the stage for countless film shoots, such as ‘La Templanza’, and major advertising campaigns, such as the ‘Peroni Calendar’ or the spot for a Yves Saint Laurent perfume.
