Come and meet with TFC co-ordinator from 12 to 15 February
Berlin International Film Festival is one of our favourite events of the year. In a very professional though relaxed atmosphere, we meet lots of producers eager to learn about the Island. Tenerife Film Commission will be heading for Berlin very soon.
At the Berlinale, which runs for 10 days (from 11 to 21 February), we’ll be at the European Film Market in the Martin-Gropius-Bau building. We’ll be there along with other Canary Islands like La Palma, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote at the Canary Islands booth in the umbrella stand Cinema from Spain.
As usual, we’re going to Berlin to show producers our qualities as a film set. They can learn about the island’s natural areas, its spring-like temperature year round, its different villages, towns and cities…in short, Tenerife’s potential to double as nearly anywhere else in the world.
One of our strongest points is the tax incentives companies can benefit from as opposed to those available in other areas. Our 35% tax break to productions shot on the Island make us a highly competitive location. In addition, Tenerife has first-rate experienced production companies who have already worked in shoots like Fast & Furious 6 or the latest movie of the Bourne franchise —to be released—, are just two examples of Hollywood major productions that have chosen the Island as their location.
We are very excited about attending the Berlinale. When we’re back in Tenerife, we’ll be more than happy to tell you all we did there and if we are lucky, (we think we will), tell you about new shoots and productions on the Island. See you when we get back!
