The well-known brand of shoes Merrell from the United States, the lingerie brand Tezenis Underwear and the Italian fashion brand Alberta Ferreti have all recently filmed on the island using the services of Boudika Productions – a production service company associated to Tenerife Film Commission
Boudika Productions – the production services company associated to Tenerife Film Commission – has performed its services for different adverts filmed on the island in recent months. These include the well-known and prestigious brand of trail shoes Merrell, from the United States, the lingerie brand Tezenis Underwear, and the fashion brand Alberta Ferreti, who all contracted the services of this company from Tenerife.
The international campaign by Merrell (View) , produced by Livetribe, located in Los Angeles and directed by Lavender & Ravenscroft, was filmed over four days, during which time Boudika Productions advised the US producer on the development of the whole production, from the search for locations and arrangement of permits to contracting the entire technical and artistic team, managing logistics and the technical coordination of the whole filming process.
Four different spots were filmed and two different locations used each day, which thus involved contracting several cameras and technical equipment, such as drones, to follow the runners over complicated terrain, since the campaign sought to show the adaptability of running shoes over challenging environments.
Most of the technical team were local workers, as only the directors, the director of photography, the brand’s clients and some athletes travelled over from the United States, while the rest of the casting for models took place in the Canary Islands and Spanish mainland.
It is worth noting that the directors of the campaign chose Tenerife when they saw the diversity of landscapes on the island through the promotional video ‘Mil planetas’ [A Thousand Planets], produced by Boudika Productions during the pandemic and filmed remotely thanks to the selfless collaboration of local companies and professionals, precisely with a view to showing the tremendous variety of locations on the island for filming.
In order to film the spot for the lingerie brand Tezenis Underwear, Boudika provided its services to the Italian producer The Box, which recreated a rock lifestyle on a road trip through the American desert on the island.
The brand Alberta Ferreti also chose Boudika Productions to provide its services during the filming of its summer campaign on the island, which included photos and videos based on the four elements: water, earth, air and fire. To achieve this, they used the diverse landscapes of Tenerife, which meant they could use desert locations, such as El Arco de Tajao, and volcanic coastlines, like those of Garachico and Playa de la Arena.
The campaign stars the models Valeria Chenskaya and Barathy Akkan, while the international photographer Federico de Angelis shot the video.
Locations for series
Recent work by Boudika Productions also includes their service of finding and managing locations for some major series. In the summer of 2022, Pokeepsie Films contracted the producer from Tenerife for the filming of the second season of the HBO series 30 Monedas (teaser), directed by Alex de la Iglesia and starring, among others, Paul Giamatti, Macarena Gómez, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Eduard Fernández and Megan Montaner.
