The Tenerife Auditorium is welcoming French pianist Pierre Réach, who will offer performances of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor, Op. 2, No. 1 (1794-1795), published in Vienna and dedicated to Joseph Haydn; Piano Sonata No. 18 in E-flat major, Op. 31, No. 3 (1802), a sonata with a pastoral feel to it, also known as Wachtelschlag Sonate (Call of the Quail Sonata) after the theme of the first movement, which reappears in the Scherzo and the closing Presto; Piano Sonata No. 24, Op. 78 in F-sharp minor (1810), a more intimate two-movement piece whose lightness and tenderness are reminiscent of Scarlatti; and Piano Sonata No. 4, in E-flat major, Op. 7 (1796), sometimes nicknamed as the Grand Sonata because it is one of the longest sonatas by Beethoven and it covers a wide range of themes.
