The Autonomous Agency of Festivals and Recreational Activities (OAFAR) of the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is organising a new edition of the Nativity Scene Contest. The Nativity Scenes in competition will be shown from 13 December to 6 January 2023.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Nativity Scene Contest is a long-standing tradition, filling the city with the hope and enthusiasm embodied by the ancient trades and crafts involved in the making of a nativity scene. This year, the contest is coming back after the COVID-19 hiatus. To enter the competition, nativity scenes should re-enact at least three episodes in the birth of Jesus: the Nativity, with Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus; the Adoration of the Magi; and the Annunciation to the Shepherds.
