Der Zwerg (The Dwarf)

Ópera de Tenerife presents Der Zwerg (The Dwarf), an opera in one act by Austrian composer Alexander von Zemlinsky, with a libretto freely adapted from the short story “The Birthday of the Infanta” by Oscar Wilde.

The production will feature Alessandro Palumbo as conductor, and the Intermezzo-Opera de Tenerife Resident Choir and the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra. One of Zemlinsky’s most popular works, Der Zwerg tells the story of the unrequited love between a dwarf sent as a present to the Infanta by the sultan and the Infanta, Donna Clara.
