Elfidio

The Leal Theatre playing host to the new show by Los Sabandeños. Los Sabandeños is a project that began sixty years ago, when a bunch of friends got together and came up with the idea of popularising the music of the Canary Islands. Among those friends was Alonso Quintero, aka Elfidio, a curious reporter specialising in the issues others did not want to think about.

Elfidio’s story is the story of a people whose voices and looks reveal what Los Sabandeños mean to them. His life story sometimes runs parallel to the life stories of ordinary people. In sum, Elfidio is a traditional story peppered with music, folklore, thoughts and friendship, as seen through the eyes of a man full of empathy and hope.
