Holy Christ of La Laguna Festival 2023

In September, in keeping with local tradition, San Cristóbal de La Laguna pays tribute to the Holy Christ of La Laguna. Celebrations reach their climax on 14 September, which is a local holiday. On 9 September, the Holy Christ is taken to the Cathedral, going back to His shrine on 14 September at noon. This procession is attended by a representative of the King of Spain.

In the evening, another procession visits the nunneries of St Claire and St Catherine. The procession is followed by a fireworks show in the main square. Around this religious feast, San Cristóbal de La Laguna organises concerts, children’s activities and sporting events throughout September, drawing thousands of visitors.
