40th FIMC: Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra

On 29 January, the Tenerife Auditorium will welcome the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra (OFGC) in the context of the 40^th International Music Festival of the Canary Islands (FIMC).

The OFGC has been part of FIMC since the festival’s 1^st edition. In this year’s concert, they will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 under the baton of British conductor Karel Mark Chichon. They will be accompanied by the Kaunas State Choir from Lithuania, founded over half a century ago. Scored for large orchestra and including a choral section, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 will gather as many as 200 musicians on stage.
