40th FIMC: Academy of St Martin in the Fields

In the context of the 40^th International Music Festival of the Canary Islands (FIMC), on 3 February, the Tenerife Auditorium is offering a concert by the London-based Academy of St Martin in the Fields, one of the world’s finest chamber orchestras. The programme includes Beethoven’s Romance for Violin and Orchestra No. 1 and Romance for Violin and Orchestra No. 2, Schubert’s Symphony No. 5, and Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night).

The orchestra will be accompanied by German pianist and violinist Julia Fischer. A versatile musician and the recipient of countless awards, Fischer is one of the world’s leading violinists.
