40th FIMC: Filarmonica della Scala (Milan La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra)

On 9 February, the Tenerife Auditorium will welcome the Filarmonica della Scala (Milan La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra) in the context of the 40^th International Music Festival of the Canary Islands (FIMC).

The Filarmonica della Scala was established by Italian conductor Claudio Abbado and a group of musicians from the Scala Opera House in Milan in 1982. A renowned orchestra, it has had some of the world’s greatest conductors, has performed in Milan, in Italy and abroad, and has made extensive recordings for the top record labels. In Tenerife, the Filarmonica della Scala will play Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, under the baton of South-Korean conductor Myung-whun Chung.
