Menina. Soy una puta obra de Velázquez

On Sunday the 1st of December at 20:30 h, the Paraninfo auditorium of the University of La Laguna will host a performance of the bold and provocative play “Menina. Soy una puta obra de Velázquez” (Menina: I’m a goddam work by Velazquez).

It tells the story of a woman who, as a child, was teased about her weight and nicknamed Menina after a visit to the El Prado museum. Instead of letting the criticism get the better of her, she embraces the nickname and, with time, decides to take on the world and work on her confidence, triumphing on stage.
