The Solemn Procession of Our Lady of Candelaria

On the 2nd of February, the municipality of Candelaria will celebrate with fervour the Solemn Procession of Our Lady of Candelaria, one of the island's most important festivities, held to pay homage to the patron saint of the Canary Islands.

At 11:30 h, the procession travels from the Town Hall of Candelaria to the Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria, where the Solemn Eucharist is celebrated, presided over by the Bishop of the Nivariense Diocese. Afterwards, a procession goes through the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias, closing the event with fireworks.
