Maritime Procession in El Médano

On the 20th of September, El Médano celebrates its Maritime Procession in El Médano, one of the most original pilgrimages in Tenerife.

The Maritime Procession in El Médano, Granadilla de Abona, is a pilgrimage unlike any other in Tenerife: instead of carts, the participants bear decorated boats that pay homage to the town’s seafaring past. A festival steeped in local flavour that combines folklore, cuisine and tradition in a coastal setting in the south of the island.
