The Golden Dragon La Laguna

Péter Eötvös’s opera “The Golden Dragon” premières in Tenerife on the 25th and 26th of September at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna.

Opera of Tenerife presents “The Golden Dragon”, a contemporary opera by Hungarian composer Péter Eötvös based on the play by the German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig. This new production from the Auditorium of Tenerife, with musical direction by Jordi Francés and stage direction by Bárbara Lluch, tells the story of a young undocumented migrant working in the kitchen of an Asian restaurant, interwoven with the fable about the ant and the grasshopper. It forms part of Opera of Tenerife’s “Ópera en minúscula” (Opera in lowercase) series.
