Tenerife Ladies' Open

For almost a decade, between 2002 and 2010, Tenerife has played host to the prestigious Tenerife Ladies' Open, where some of the Ladies European Tour's finest players have played. The first tournament was held at Golf del Sur and ended in victory for Spain's Raquel Carriedo. In 2003, the German player Elizabeth Esterl won the tournament which was held at Golf Las Américas. In 2004, the tournament moved for the first time in its history to the north of the Island (Buenavista), where Italy's Diana Luna was a clear winner at Buenavista Golf.

The French golfer Ludivine Kreutz took first place in 2005 at Golf Costa Adeje, while in 2006 the prize went to the Finn Riikka Hakkarainen at Abama Golf. The Tenerife Ladies' Open then returned to Golf del Sur in 2007, where the Australian Nikki Garrett came first.

Golf Costa Adeje hosted the event in 2008 and 2009. The winners there were England's Rebecca Hudson and Felicity Johnson.

Buenavista Golf was the host once again in 2010, where England's Trish Johnson took first place.
