The Carnival Queen

Shimmering sequins, feathers, colours, fabrics and textures – the huge structures that the aspirant queens are dressed in look truly amazing, and every costume seems to have been inspired by a fairytale. The beauty and flair of the wearers make it even more difficult to choose one favourite design. But that is the aim of the show, to elect the aspirant that best embodies the joy and passion of Tenerife's people for their festivities: the Carnival Queen.

The galas have grown bigger and more grandiose every year. The ceremony was once held at the Guimerá Theatre, others at Plaza de España, and the most recent of all took place at the International Show and Conference Centre. As the show changes its stage, it evolves and becomes more lively and spectacular than ever.

The light, the sound, the Carnival groups and the candidates themselves make this a wonderful event with keen followers watching live and on TV. It all ends when Tenerife's Carnival Queen is elected as the Island's unofficial ambassador and the representative of the festivities for the year ahead.
