The Pilgrimage of Saint Isidore the Labourer in La Orotava

The pilgrimage of Saint Isidore the Labourer in La Orotava takes place on the 16th of June, starting from the Cruz del Teide and ending at the Ermita del Calvario.

This event carries both religious and cultural significance and is attended by people from all over the island who dress up in traditional peasant clothing and come to walk next to the carts pulled by oxen. Traditional songs, music and dances accompany the procession, and the carts carry local delicacies and wine, which are handed out to people along the pilgrimage route.
