Candelmas and Virgin of Candelaria Festivity

Every year, 2 February sees events staged in honour of the Virgin of Candelaria, the patron saint of the Canary Islands. The Candelmas Procession takes place in the town of Candelaria late on the night of 1 February, when the lights of the town centre are switched off for people to take part in the candlelit rosary.
