May Festival in Santa Cruz 2023

Santa Cruz de Tenerife is celebrating the popular Feast of May, whose highlight is Holy Cross Day on 3 May, including the Flowering of the Cross Competition and a procession across the old town.

The celebrations begin on 21 April with the opening speech, to be delivered at Plaza de la Isla de la Madera. In addition to the Flowering of the Cross Competition and the procession, activities include the Traditional Ball, known as Baile de Magos, and the May Festival Queen Pageant.

Most cultural, sporting and entertainment activities will take place at Parque García Sanabria and Plaza de la Candelaria, but there will be other activity hosting points in town too. The Traditional Ball, which last year gathered 14,000 people, will be held in the area of La Noria.
