St John’s Eve in Tenerife 2023

Every year, on 23 June, most towns and villages in Tenerife celebrate St John’s Eve. Bonfires burn on the beach, releasing the smell of burning wood as people throw what they want to leave behind into the fire.

St John’s Eve is a very special evening in many villages across the island, including Puerto de la Cruz, Punta del Hidalgo and Guía de Isora. Closely coinciding with the June solstice, it marks the beginning of the summer.
