Trail description

The trail starts in the village of El Jaral on Calle Santiago Apóstol. Turn left onto a small street with a dead end for traffic that leads onto a track. Head down it to a streambed that joins the Rodrigo ravine. By the streambed, turn left onto a narrow lane that takes you to the area of Maderos, heading towards the Rodrigo ravine, and then follow the path that runs downwards alongside the ravine. If you peer into the ravine, you will see the slag heap and the rail tracks used to access the Fuentes de Ramallo mine. Follow the trail down and veer slightly left until an irrigation channel crosses your path. You will then see an old downhill pathway lined with stone walls where the fields are overgrown with Montpellier cistus (Cistus monspeliensis). Continue your descent along a more accessible pathway until you draw close to the TF-82 road (at the bend by the Rodrigo ravine). There, take the pathway of La Vegueta, which climbs up the northern side of the ravine and joins a track named Calle Barranco. Carry on up that track until you reach the PR-TF 70 trail to the historic quarter of Guía de Isora.
