Charco El Inglés

The wonders of this pool have been treasured by the locals for years. The best time to go there is at high tide, which is when it is deepest.

Charco El Inglés (meaning The Englishman's Pool) owes its name to the British family that used to live and work at the nearby sugar refinery in the late 19th century, who would take frequent dips in the pool. To this day, you can still see the old chimney shaped like a flat-topped pyramid that was made of two types of volcanic stone.

It is located in the municipality of Los Silos, a few metres away from the neighbourhood of La Caleta de Interián, on the Ribera del Mar road. The pool is frequented by local fisherman and features stone steps with a handrail so it is easy to get in and out of.
