Ever since the 17th century, Los Realejos has hosted a great pilgrimage in honour of San Isidro Labrador. The event was born of the need to make his miracles and legends known to the world after he was canonised in 1622 by Pope Gregory XV. Because of its magnificence and its increasing popularity, the celebration has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

Where is the Romería of Los Realejos held?
The route begins at the Parroquia Matriz del Apóstol Santiago, continuing along Avenida de Los Remedios, ascending Calle Reyes Católicos, following Calle El Llano, linking with the upper section of Calle El Sol, Calle La Pila and descending Calle El Medio Arriba until returning to the temple. Participating groups gather beforehand in three areas according to their origin and are placed by the organisation between Avenida Tres de Mayo and Avenida de Canarias to join the pilgrimage walk in a coordinated manner.
What time does the Romería of Los Realejos start?
The festivity begins in the morning with the procession and then the Eucharist in the Parroquia Matriz del Apóstol Santiago. After the ceremony, the pilgrimage walk begins, in which around a hundred family and friendship groups participate, distributed in carts, floats and motor cultivators. The entrance of the saints takes place in the afternoon.
