Trail description
The trail begins at Plaza del Cristo de la Salud, right in the heart of Arona. It leads you up along the TF-51 road for about 1 km (0.62 miles) until it nears La Charca del Ancón, where the circular trail actually starts. From that point, the trail follows a gentle upward slope to Ifonche along a ridge which once housed farmland. The area still shows some vestiges of traditional local agriculture. Once you have passed the houses of Casas del Topo and the El Refugio restaurant, you will see a path across the ravine of El Refugio. This leads you onto Camino de Suárez and back to the start, after walking around Roque del Imoque, Montaña de Suárez and the foothills of Roque del Conde, crossing the El Rey ravine and heading back to the town of Arona. The trail enters two Protected Nature Areas of great ecological significance: the Barranco del Infierno (Hell's Ravine) Special Nature Reserve and the Protected Landscape of Ifonche, so you are asked to be careful and respectful.
