The Teide National Park is the third highest volcanic cone on the planet. In the National Park it is possible to visit the peak of Teide (subject to prior permission), take the cable car, go hiking along the park's many trails or stargaze.
Useful information for visiting the volcanoes of Tenerife
- To get to the top station of the cable car, you don't need a special permit, but you do need to buy a ticket for the cable car.
- If you wish to ascend on foot from the top cable car station to the crater and peak of Teide (Height 3,718 m), you need a special permit.
- To go to the Corona Forestal Natural Park, which is also considered a volcanic area, you do not need a special permit.
- You must have the appropriate equipment.
- Respect the rules of the park and follow the indications of the authorities to protect the natural environment.
- Depending on the weather conditions, some hiking trails may not be allowed.
