Tenerife has a population of just over 800,000 inhabitants.

Tenerife has a population of over 800,000 people spread out over 31 municipalities. The Island houses two of the archipelago's largest cities with over 100,000 residents: La Laguna and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is the capital of the Island and of the archipelago, although it shares the later role with Las Palmas. Also worthy of mention are Arona (70,000 inhabitants) and Adeje, both of which are in the touristy south of Tenerife, registering annual growth rates of 13%. Generally speaking, the coastal areas are the most populated.
