The Historic Quarter of Arona

The heart of the town, which has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest, is the 18th century San Antonio Abad church, located in the very same spot that housed the chapel one hundred years before. The figure of Cristo de la Salud (the Christ of Health) is the temple's most valuable possession. Around the church, the town's stately homes and cobbled streets invite you to take a leisurely stroll.

Arona's town centre features a considerable number of unique buildings. The Cristo de la Salud church is, together with the church of San Antonio Abad, one of the town's most memorable buildings. A walk around this town could happily start there and continue along the streets of Domínguez Alfonso, Duque de la Torre and the perpendicular streets of La Luna and El Medio, ending with the streets of José Antonio Tavío and El Calvario.
