Outings on wheels

Tenerife's roads are perfect for cycling tourism. Some venture into areas such as the Corona Forestal or Anaga Country Park, where you will feel the volcanic force of the landscapes around you. What's more, the roads are well paved and light on traffic – every cyclists dream.

The ride up Mount Teide is the most popular cycle route. Professional teams preparing for the Tour de France, the Vuelta a España or the Giro d'Italia set up their training camps here every year for several weeks on end. In fact, the winners of the last Tour did their training in Tenerife.

There are also a whole host of options for mountain biking, with some 2,000 km (1250 miles) of forest tracks that are perfect for you and your bike.
