The Royal Tenerife Golf Club was founded in 1932 and is currently one of Spain's longest-standing clubs. In 1964, it hosted the International Spanish Open, now known as the Men's Spanish Open, which was won on that occasion by Ángel de Miguel. In 2003, this prestigious tournament returned to Tenerife, specifically to Golf Costa Adeje, where it was won by the Englishman Kenneth Ferrie.
