Malva de risco

An endemic plant species growing in the lowlands of Tenerife

Malva de risco (Lavatera acerifolia) is an endemic shrub growing in the Canary Islands in dry and sunny areas at altitudes of 200 to 500 m (655 to 1,640 ft). It is easy to come across on the mountain ranges of Teno and Anaga, in Güimar and Adeje. Its mauve-coloured flower blossoms for several months, making it rather popular as an ornamental plant.
