The small fortress of San Fernando

This little fortress was built towards the end of the 18th century with the aim of keeping watch over the coast of Los Realejos and defending it from pirates, such as the well-known Cabeza de Perro (Dog's Head), who was born in Tenerife. The small fortress of San Fernando still has three of the five cannons that were placed there in the early 19th century and has been used to shoot a series of international films such as Moby Dick and James Bond.
